RealTimeRental® is hosted in a maximum security, carrier-class facility with advanced security features (biometric palm readers, 24x7 on site security, video monitoring, card key access). Power is supplied by redundant commercial power feeds backed up by redundant diesel generators through a fault tolerant power supply system (surge protection, multiple power grids, facilities-based AC/DC battery backup).

RealTimeRental® is connected directly to the Internet backbone via numerous DS-3 and higher connections provided by multiple suppliers such as MCI, Sprint, Espire, UUNet, Savvis, and IXA. Traffic routing is optimized across the various backbone providers using BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and all core routing is handled by CISCO routers.

Data is further protected using industry standard schedules using tape and network technology. In addition to the secure on site backup storage at the data center, data is rotated off site to facility managed by Iron Mountain; a company that specializes in secure data storage and provides services to most of the Fortune 500.

The technical infrastructure has been selected and carefully planned to withstand most weather or other catastrophes without disruption to services. RealTimeRental® has worked with Data Return® to have the plans and infrastructure in place to ensure rapid restoration of services should the datacenter become unavailable.

In addition, an unlimited amount of users can access the system from their office or any Internet access. There are several access security levels to choose from and the office/system manager has the authority to decide which of these is appropriate for each type of user.
